To deal with the summer heat, what’s better than a fresh strawberry granita? Here is a quick and easy recipe to make.
Ingredients:
Water: 200ml
Powdered sugar: 150 gr
Fresh strawberries: 500 gr
Fresh whipping cream: 500 gr
A few mint leaves
Preparation:
Wash and remove the stems from the strawberries, cut them into pieces and blend them with the blender. Pass half of the juice thus obtained through a sieve to remove, at least in part, the strawberry seeds. Add 125 grams of icing sugar and blend again. Place the mixture thus obtained in a low, wide mold and place it in the freezer for at least 2 hours, stirring frequently to break any ice crystals. The granita must have a soft consistency, it must not freeze or appear ‘blocky’. Whip the cream with the remaining icing sugar and vanilla. To serve, place the strawberry granita in a glass, cover with a generous dollop of whipped cream and garnish with a strawberry and a little fresh mint.
Tips: Serve with whipped cream and a brioche!
